GENTLEMEN, START YOUR ENGINES....
The DUCATI 916 SPS will be 10 YEARS old in April 2007, so to celebrate aswell as to nearly complete the transition to World Superbike Spec of 1997, The Bike will now have full Corse Magnesium Swing arm, to help keep the front wheel closer to the ground, once the newly implanted 999R Engine kicks in. 2006 we measured 120 bhp at the rear wheel, so the 999R engine should pull around 145 bhp. We decided that might not quite be enough, so completey stripped the engine, fine tuned the crank, titanium conrods, high compression pistons, titanium larger inlet and outlet valves, gas flowed and ported the cylinder head, new 60 mm Full Titanium downpipes and "Silencer", along with a double race water cooler to keep the temperature at bay, power commander for fine tuning, quickshifter and reverse gear shift, round the package off to hopefully pull an impressive ~ 170 bhp at the rear wheel.
